Puck, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream

Just a few snaps from a little visit my friend Chris and I paid to the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. It is such an inspiring place, they have a Rolf Harris exhibition on at the moment which is a must see. He isn’t just the quirky TV presenter but a truly talented artist. May of his works were in the style of other famous artists such as Monet and Klimt, to be able to execute so many styles is a very difficult craft to master as well as developing his own unique style. We spent the morning at the newly refurbished Liverpool Vivienne Westwood store where you will find Chris working most days. It was actually his day off that day but ever excited about Westwood Chris didn’t mind showing me all the new A/W pieces that have started to arrive. As you can guess I have a wish-list as long as my arm already! Be sure to call in if you are in the area. As usual Chris and I are both head to toe Westwood, Chris is wearing an original Salon printed jacket from the 1992 collection. The print is a photograph of The Wallace Collection, a constant inspiration for Vivienne. They have reissued the print this season, it is fabulous!

Have you visited either Gallery?

  • What a great looking gallery. I’ve just realised that I’ve only been to Liverpool once – and I think I might have been 13 at the time. Definitely a time to revisit. But let’s forget the culture and the art for a moment, swept aside as it it is by the glorious sight of a double helping of ‘head to toe’ Westwood.’
Also just read your post below on the side-effects of some of your medications. Once again, a very brave post raising significant issues that seem to be ignored or to be considered insignificant.
